A first time visit to a building will require that we scan your driver’s license or photo ID to register you in the system (Raptor).
• If you do not have a valid ID, you may still register in the system by using your full name and birthdate.

Please wear your badge the length of your visit and check-out when you are done with your volunteering opportunity.

school. If the visitor lot is full and you park in the student lot,
please let the desk attendant know when you check in at the main
entrance. If you are in the student lot, remember
your car license number and write it down on the sign in/out sheet.
Please leave your purse and other valuables locked in your car.
It is important to be dependable and reliable. Please call the
office or Volunteer Coordinator if you will be late or absent.
Remember confidentiality and act in a professional manner. Respect a
student’s privacy. What you see and hear at John Marshall, stays at
Volunteers should not: telephone students, dispense medications,
transport students, visit them at their homes or meet students off
school grounds without permission from the parents, school principal
and/or district volunteer coordinator.
Always work in a highly visible area. Volunteers always work under
the direct supervision of teachers and/or administrators. Discipline
problems should be referred to them.
Report any suspected child maltreatment as required by law (Refer to Child Maltreatment handout.)
Avoid blood and other body fluids (Refer to Bloodborne pathogens handout.)
Participate in fire, tornado, and lock down drills
Training is available for specific volunteer opportunities.
Be happy! If you don’t like what you are doing - there are other volunteer opportunities.
