Sandy Nieland
Sandy Nieland grew up on dairy farm in Arlington, Minnesota. After graduating from Arlington-Green Isle High School, Sandy attended Gustavus Adolphus College where she majored in Speech and Theater with an English minor. She started her teaching career in Ogilvie, Minnesota which is just south of Lake Mille Lacs. She taught a wide variety of electives and directed the contest one act play. After 5 years, Sandy moved back to southern Minnesota, specifically Le Sueur, which is the home of the Jolly Green Giant! There Sandy taught many electives, again, while she directed the fall play, one act play, and coached the speech team. During the summer, she directed Le Sueur's community theater - The River City Players. After years of being the "new person" who taught just about every elective imaginable, Sandy jumped on the opportunity to teach speech and theater at JM. She directed the JM fall play for 8 years and currently coaches the speech team. In addition to speech and drama, Sandy also teaches English in the 21st Century, Adventures!, and Contemporary Literature. In her spare time, Sandy enjoys watching movies, attending the theater, and scrapbooking.
