What is Campus Pride?
ROAR 'Campus Pride' is a new initiate helping JM students embrace service. Partnering with University of Minnesota Olmsted County Extension Master Gardeners and Master Naturalist, students will learn about best practices for environmental stewardship while sprucing up our campus.
A couple of garden savy staff, a long-time grounds volunteer, and Extension Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists have volunteered to work with one of the 12 garden areas to educate and guide student to grow their knowledge.
Student clubs, teams, and individuals volunteers will focus on becoming good stewards while ramping up the campus with perennials, pollinators, and native plants as they learn the value of community service.
Alumni and community members are welcome to participate. Donations to purchase pavers and rock are needed for a new rain garden that will be installed; perennials that aren’t donated will need funds, as well.
One easy way is to 'Sponsor a Pollinator.' Ten dollars $10 will sponsor a pollinator and provide what is needed for the student to maintain our campus. Check can be sent to JMHS Campus Pride, John Marshall High School, 1510 14th St NW.
