Welcome to Mr. Schmidt's Webpage

Welcome to Science at John Marshall.  My name is Rob Schmidt and am teaching Chemistry this year.  This is my 10th year of teaching and 6th year at John Marshall.  I have also taught and coached at Kasson-Mantorville for 4 years prior to coming to John Marshall.  I absolutely love John Marshall, the students are amazing, the other teachers are some of the best, and the atmosphere is very family-like.

I'm originally from Hastings MN where I played Hockey, Football, and Baseball.  I earned a bachelor's degree from the University of MN-Duluth in Secondary Education with a focus and license in Chemistry and Biology.  I went on to earn a master's degree from Graceland University in Education.  I have also earned graduate credits in Education Administration from Concordia St. Paul as well as other credits from The University of Colorado-Pueblo.

I married my high school sweetheart and we have 2 beautiful daughters.  Nora is 4 and Naomi is 1.

Some of my favorite things to do are based around the outdoors.  I love camping, hiking, and backpacking.  Fishing is one of my true passions.  I spend most of my free time exploring the Driftless area trout streams fly fishing.
