About Me

Hello My Name Is...

Mr. Voigt

I teach Physics and Engineering at John Marshall High School. I hold a B.S. in Physics and a M.S. in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota.

I have been teaching in the Rochester school district since January 2014.

I have 2.5 years of experience operating a remote observatory for the University of North Dakota;

Over four years of experience leading students in small-team engineering projects to design, build, and fly a rocket to one mile in altitude and conduct a science experiment for a national NASA competition called USLI;

 UND Rocket 1
Our third year rocket which deployed a communications relay at maximum altitude.
UND Rocket 4
Fourth year rocket which contained an autonomous rover which would sample the soil where it landed.

One year of leading a group of graduate students to design, build, and fly a sub-orbital rocket payload on-board a NASA sounding rocket to measure gas concentrations in the mesosphere;

Rocksat 2 I've touched something that has been in space!

As a hobby, I love playing hockey. I play in a coed league here in Rochester sometimes twice a week. I am an inaugural season champ of HockeyFinder here in Rochester. I have been playing hockey since I was in the 7th grade, when I moved to Rochester from the Chicago area.
